They Were Always Here: Why Awareness Isn’t the Same as Over-Diagnosis
✨ They were always here. Now, we see them.
“Over-diagnosis” isn’t the issue. Overlooking people is.
Neurodivergence isn’t new, awareness is. The rise in diagnoses doesn’t mean more children are suddenly neurodivergent; it means we’re finally recognising those who were always there, misunderstood and unsupported.
Awareness isn’t creating a problem. It’s revealing one.
And with visibility comes responsibility, to listen, to adapt, and to build systems that truly include every child.
